Privacy notice
Your details, and what we do with them.
Last updated 18 September 2026.
Basis Advisors (1420 Fifth Avenue, Suite 2200, Seattle, WA 98101) runs basisadvisors.com. This notice covers the site and the enquiry form. Questions about it go to willa@basisadvisors.com.
What the enquiry form collects
- The domain name you ask about and the reason you choose.
- Your name, company and work email.
- A phone number and message, if you add them.
- The IP address the form was sent from, kept with the enquiry to help spot abuse.
We use these only to answer your enquiry and, if it leads to a purchase, to complete it. We do not sell them, rent them or add you to a newsletter.
Bot protection
A Cloudflare Turnstile check sits on the form to screen out automated submissions. Turnstile looks at signals from your browser to make that decision; Cloudflare describes what it processes in its own privacy policy. The form will not send until the check passes.
Who processes the data
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and delivers form submissions to our inbox by email.
- Our email provider stores the resulting messages and our replies.
- If you buy a name, the escrow service you pay handles the payment and its own identity checks under its own terms.
What the site does not do
No analytics, no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts except the Turnstile check on the contact page. The typefaces come from Google Fonts, so your browser's request for them shows Google your IP address.
Retention
An enquiry that never turns into a purchase is erased two years after its last message. Purchase records stay on file for seven years because tax rules require it. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep only the domain of your email address, so you are not contacted again.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by writing to the address above. We reply within 30 days. If you are in California, the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under your local law as well.
